Michael Scott(M)  Late 30s   Now Korea Gyeonggi-DoFrom United States of America

Preferred Job Type:Universities & Private Schools,Elementary & Secondary Public Schools,Online/Phone Teaching,Private Tutoring,IT Specialists

About Me: Objective I am interested in an elementary teaching position starting in the 2017-18 school year. Teaching abroad has been an exciting and rewarding experience for me for the past several years. Since 2015 I have been teaching Year 6 at the Cambridge International School in Bratislava, Slovakia. Prior to coming to Slovakia I taught in Albania, at the Albanian International School and in Korea teaching in an intensive English program. I especially enjoyed working with my students in Korea. I have a great appreciation for their motivation and their respect for education. I look forward to returning to Korea and finding a position where I can grow and contribute to making the educational experience the best it can be for my students. Qualifications In early 2010 I completed my Master of Science degree in Education with a specialization in Instructional Computer Applications. I also hold a valid teaching credential for elementary education in the state of California, U.S.A. I am currently teaching year 6 at the Cambridge International School in Bratislava, Slovakia. My teaching experience also includes 1 year as a grade 1-2 combo teacher at the Albanian International School, 2 years teaching English in Korea, and two years of substitute teaching in California. My accomplishments in both my education and in my career are evidence that I am motivated and that I work well both independently and with others. I am very organized, I work well under pressure, and I always meet reasonable deadlines. Problem-solving and troubleshooting are two of my specialties, both in terms of technological problems, and lesson planning obstacles. Furthermore, I enjoy learning new things and sharing my knowledge and experience with others. Work History 2015-(current) Cambridge International School Teacher Year 6 Using both the British National Curriculum and the Cambridge Curriculum as guidelines teachers are responsible for finding and developing the majority of their own resources in order to teach in a primarily inquiry based environment. This position has helped me to improve my preparation and organization skills, and has given me insight into the British education system. In this position I am planning, preparing, and teaching English, Math, Science, History, Drama, ICT and PSHE (citizenship, values, etc.) In my current school the teaching method is centered around teaching problem solving and critical thinking skills to encourage students to develop a deeper understanding of topics, rather than direct memorization of facts. Phone: +42 1948006242 Email: michaelscott.teacher@gmail.com Michael Scott M.S.Ed. 11205 Springfield St. Riverside, CA 92505 Work Experience (cont.) 2014-2015 Albanian International School Teacher-1st and 2nd Grade combo / Technology Coordinator As the 1-2 teacher at AIS I have enjoyed teaching both native English speakers and 2nd language students. The challenges of teaching all subjects to students with varying levels of English have really given me the opportunity to grow as a teacher. Finding new ways to differentiate education to appropriately provide scaffolding for each student is both challenging and rewarding. As the technology coordinator, I am also sure to implement technology into my lessons every day, and also to assist other instructors at my school to do the same. 2013– 2014 VIP English Conversation Training Center English Teacher 2012– 2013 Cheongju English Center, Cheongju-si, South Korea E.S.L. Daniel Walker(M)  Early 30s   Now Korea From United Kingdom

Preferred Job Type:Elementary & Secondary Public Schools

About Me: Qualifications MA (Masters): Lifelong Learning; University of Huddersfield PGCE: Lifelong Learning; University of Huddersfield BA (Bachelors): Performance: Theatre; York St. John University TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Master Diploma in Professional Acting; Drama Studio London Recent Work Oct 2015 – March 2017, Teacher of English, Wattana Wittaya Academy, Bangkok, Thailand I am about to return to the U.K. from a role in Asia where I was invited back to work as a teacher of English at an institution I had worked at previously. The academy is located in central Bangkok, Thailand, and is one of the most esteemed academies in Thailand. My role was both in a teaching capacity and as an advisor to other members of staff, assisting trainee Thai teachers in their education courses and assessing their lesson preparation. My experience and qualifications in education also meant part of my role included giving constructive feedback for improvement. Sept 2014 - July 2015, Teacher of ‘Opening Minds: World Culture’, The Freeston Academy, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, U.K. As a teacher of ’Opening Minds’ in the academy my role was to deliver classes on ’World Culture’ to the students. My role included the creation of a scheme of work, creating my own resources as well as adapting existing material to outline a clear plan for the academic year. A lot of the material I created and delivered during the year was linked to my own experiences working abroad. This meant I was able to teach using resources and presentations that included my own images/media from around the world. I felt that this helped students to be able to engage with the material rather than simply presenting textbook information to them. I was also able to share real-life experiences to support their learning and enable them to acquire a wider perspective on the topics taught. As part of my role I was also responsible for deciding on effective forms of assessment at the end of each learning cycle and maintaining accurate records of results. April 2013-Sept 2013, SEO Marketer/Client Website Content Writer, Hoardman Consulting, Bangkok, Thailand I was responsible for the promotion of global businesses targeting specific audiences relevant to each company. The role included using various marketing strategies such as Google keywords to create content for websites to improve their page rank. I was able to liaise with clients in order to generate a plan specific to their business needs, offering an honest consultation service before carrying out the necessary work. March 2012 - March 2013, English/Drama Teacher, Wattana Wittaya Academy, Bangkok, Thailand I worked as a drama teacher, designing and delivering the curriculum to classes of varying ages and abilities. I was also responsible for the intake of new students working alongside the foreign supervisor. In addition to this my role included liaising with Thai staff to overcome any misunderstandings or cultural differences that occurred in the international staff department. This was an important role when new international staff arrived from different areas of the world. April 2011-Feb 2012, Business Language Instructor, Worldian Business Language Centre, Seoul, South Korea In this role I was responsible for the promotion and delivery of business language classes for adults. My job was to teach business workers from Asia about western culture and how to operate in a business capacity in the U.K. and U.S.A. This involved roleplaying work situations, or even teaching about typical customs in completing everyday tasks such as booking a hotel room or going out to dinner. It was important for me to display a combination of cross-cultural understanding and knowledge of business through use of my interpersonal skills.

Hannah Desmond(F)  Early 30s   Now Korea From United Kingdom

Preferred Job Type:Adult Conversation/Grammar/BusinessEnglish,Online/Phone Teaching,Other Teaching Jobs

About Me: I am a well-qualified ESL instructor from the UK with a real passion and enthusiasm for teaching English. I feel excited about the potential at this point in my career and I have the ambition of gaining some further experience in the ESL field. I currently work for an after-school English program in a public elementary school in Eastern Seoul and although I am on an E2 visa, my employers have expressed that their employees may gain additional employment with their permission. I would be very interested to hear about any opportunities that you may have. I am looking for a few additional teaching hours a week to fit around my current schedule and I am happy to teach either 1:1 or group classes in a range of settings. My qualification is the highly regarded Trinity Cert TESOL which I gained on a very intensive face-to-face course at an excellent school in London. This qualification is the direct equivalent of CELTA (although less well known in Asia, is comparably rigorous and has a remarkably similar course content) and had a high level of assessed feedback on taught classes and written work and combined theory with practical teaching. My work experience prior to teaching is varied. I have coached adults and young people in lifestyle and health issues, and I have worked in a welfare capacity in a University and in the UK’s National Health Service. I have worked for both private and public companies and I feel that this varied experience has brought a background of professional knowledge to my work in teaching and has enabled me to be an effective and well-rounded employee. I feel confident that I would be able to teach in a business capacity. In the future, I hope to either study for a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics or TESOL or get my teaching license, and now I am hoping that I can take the next step in my career where I can truly apply my creativity and love for teaching English. Key Skills ● Very high level of written and spoken English. ● Skilled at teaching English to elementary and middle school aged children, as well as adults. ● Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. ● Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills. ● Skilled at communicating difficult information. ● Building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of people. ● Training, teaching and presentation skills.
